Welt opening iron.
A tool for cobbler work. The metal working part resembles a small iron or “burnisher” (curved surface) with one rounded edge. Wooden handle with a characteristic thickening.
Used for expanding and smoothing the shoe welt to eliminate irregularities during the leather lasting process.
